Does having an implant hurt?
The surgery to install the implant is all done under local anesthesia, that is, the pain stimulus is blocked by anesthesia, so there is no pain.
And after surgery, during recovery, medications are used to relieve pain, reduce swelling and help in quick recovery.
The use of medications before, during and after surgery helps to make the procedure and recovery more smooth, but good recovery will also depend on the patient following all post-operative care.
